To provide forecasts of anticipated demand for Sales and Operations Planning and monitor performance as a driver for improvement across the UK.


To proactively manage the day-to-day forecast changes in conjunction with the account managers to minimise negative impact on both the planning operation and customer service. Utilising all available (internal and external) data sources.


This role is to ensure that all available data and information is being used to create the most accurate forecasts. While you are a member of Demand Planning team, you will provide additional resource and support to the key account team ensuring optimal and timely communication between commercial and operations and also manage the collaborative relationships with selected key accounts.



- Maintain the Demand Planning tools and provide end user training to ensure all targeted criteria are achieved

- Facilitate the demand management process through gathering of appropriate data information – collator of monthly forecasts from Customer Account Managers

- Conduct forecast review sessions on a monthly basis using the ‘All in One’ tool with key customers account managers and Customer Services / Supply Planning as appropriate to ensure the forecast is realistic and deliverable

- Manage and report significant promotional evaluations for key customers; ensuring exceptions are reviewed with Commercial, Supply and Customer Services in a timely fashion

- Manage the execution of specific allocations with Customer Services ensuring aligned to commercial


- Provide administration and end user support in the use of INFOR, IEPOS and AiO for the commercial team

- Provide Demand Planning Inductions to new starters in Commercial and Marketing teams

- Liaise with the Commercial Analysts to ensure common assumptions on anticipated Market

movements and commercial strategy are aligned within the forecasts

- Key member of NPD Meetings responsible for verifying volumes / timings / customer allocations / commercial plans prior to any projects going live and managing execution with Customer Services to minimise cost to the business

- For select NPD projects manage key updates to the business on performance vs. forecast and any

issues to aid execution

- Generate forecast accuracy by Channel/Customer/SKU to measure performance and thereby facilitate training and improvement for the commercial teams. Including commentary to explain forecast variances performance at micro level

- Preparation and ongoing review of Demand Planning decks for the monthly Supply Planning Reviews

- Manage the Demand Planning processes and procedures to ensure that product is available at all times to meet the company’s sales plan, whilst minimising operational costs

- Manage and develop the demand planning systems and tools to ensure they are fit for purpose and deliver planned benefits

- Update Commercial teams on Demand Planning and wider operations issues and requirements to

ensure that forecasting related obligations and disciplines are understood and met by all

- Manage and develop relationships and collaborative processes and templates for use with key

customers to ensure that customer demand plans are visible and understood, particularly around NPD / delists, promotional forecasts and phasing ensuring consistency across Wines and Spirits

- Working with Supply Planning to recommend the SKU split within Brand Planning levels for the

budgeting / BO allocation process on Wines and Champagnes

- Work with Commercial BUC’s and analysts during the LE process to verify the output (Live Supply Risks and Op’s) and ensure alignment to any known operational constraints

- Identification and management of the order approval process

- Other reasonable duties as required


Key Relationships

- To work closely with commercial teams ensuring optimal forecasting

- To liaise closely with the supply planning and customer services ensuring forecasts and stock

availability are aligned

- To work closely with customer and brand marketing teams to ensure optimal forecasting and NPD execution

- To develop close working relationships with key customer supply chain / ordering teams specifically: Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Waitrose, Morrisons and CRTG

- To work closely with the Supply Planning Manager to ensure Demand Plans are understood and are being used effectively in the Supply Planning process

- To work closely with the Customer Services Manager to ensure Demand Plans are being used

effectively to best meet customer requirements and substitution SKU’s and allocations are being

executed in-line with plans






- Degree educated


- Demand Planning / Supply Chain Planning experience (Wines)

- Knowledge of forecasting

- Proven experience with analysis and planning
